‘-입니다, -입니까?’ is used with a noun to make it predicate of the sentence. Unlike English, Korean makes no distinction for the choice of verb to be (am, are, is) between first-person, second-person and third-person subjects. This is more commonly done in conversation, and not usually written.
● 책상입니다. ((This) is a desk.)
● 무엇입니까? (What is (this)?)
● 한국 사람입니까? (Are (you) Korean?)
